Go for a walk

We’re lucky to live in a city with more green space than any other UK city, and should take advantage of the fantastic parks on our doorstep - the Meadows, Bruntsfield Links and Holyrood Park are a few of our favourites. Walking can reduce stress and improve your mood as well as clear your mind, making it the ideal study-break activity.

Attend a pub quiz

It’s important to make sure you still have fun, and what’s better than attending a pub quiz with a group of friends? Lebowskis on Morrison Street and The Fountain on Dundee Street host some fantastic weekly quizzes. Or, for something different, head along to Prize Surprise at The Street for a wheel-spinning interactive quiz with party games, ‘tasting’ rounds, and a singalong.

Work out

Did you know exercise can help re-focus your mind and reduce stress? For those of you who hate the thought of going to the gym, there are plenty of other fun ways to get some exercise into your week. Why not try a trampoline fitness class at Gravity Trampoline Park or take dance classes at Dance Base?

Laugh away the stress

If there’s one thing Edinburgh is world-renowned for its comedy. However, you don’t need to wait until August when the Fringe Festival comes to town to get some laughs in! You can find laugh-out-loud shows every week at Monkey Barrel on Blair Street and The Stand on York Place. Why not check them out? Laughter can make you feel relaxed, reducing the psychical symptoms of stress.
