Summer is here and, as always, there is plenty to see and do in the city of Edinburgh. So whether you are looking to enjoy the sunshine, or prefer to escape it, check out this month’s upcoming events below.

ScotFest 2018

Sunshine and music festivals are a pairing rarely beaten as shown by this year’s nostalgia-filled line-up at ScotFest. On the 6th and 7th July, the Royal Highland centre turns back the clock with noughties pop bands: Boyzone, B*witched, East 17, Five and The Jackson's (to name a but a few). This festival is one you won’t want to miss and with tickets starting as low as £48, why would you?

Edinburgh International Film Festival

Every year Edinburgh plays host to the world of cinema as movie stars and directors flood the capital with their latest films. With countless UK premieres, panels and special introductions, the Edinburgh International Film Festival is every movie buff's dream. This year’s line-up is shaping up well with a UK premier of the long awaited superhero sequel, Incredibles 2 and a very special showing of Jaws, featuring a live orchestra accompaniment.

Rum and Reggae Festival

If the wonderful weather we’ve been having takes a vacation, the Rum and Reggae festival will provide a summer vibe too good to miss. Turning the Corn Exchange into a tropical paradise on the 21st July, for one day only festival goers will experience an undisputed selection of rum and reggae music alongside carnival dancers, steel drum performances and traditional Jamaican food. Tickets start at £17.90, so act fast to avoid disappointment.
