Mhairi-Clare - Meet our New Business Executive

Meet our new New Business Executive, Mhairi-Clare Galletta. MC, as she likes to be called, joined us in July 2018 from another letting agent in Edinburgh, so she knows the property scene and understands the industry well. We chatted with MC about her thoughts on Edinburgh and the property industry and here's what she said.

Let's get to know Mhairi-Clare Galletta:

Can you describe a ‘normal’ day at work?

Not really, everyday is different in property which is what makes it such a fun and fast paced industry. On a morning you can be in a fairly rundown property and then somewhere extraordinary in the afternoon.

What do you like most about your job?

The delight of improving properties keeps me very happy. Day to day it is easy to forget how much you know as a property professional. Seeing the result of a successful project coupled with tenants’ joy at finding the perfect property is always a fantastic day in my diary. Happy landlords and happy tenants!

What is the greatest thing you have learned in your career so far?

Be the kind of person you’d like to meet, and your first impression is only as good as you last. If you can work by this ethos, I think you’ll always go far and take all the good parts of wherever you’ve been with you.

Where can we find you outside of work?

Living in Leith I love being out on The Shore, there is so much variety of what to do, restaurants, bars and even some live music. We’re spoilt for choice in Edinburgh, I’m happy in most corners of the city.

What is your favourite thing to do in Edinburgh?

I love that Edinburgh has all the power of a large city but it is small. You never have to go too far away from the centre to find fresh air and if the traffic is bad, you can walk everywhere just about as fast (flat shoes required!). I’ll never tire of the view from Arthur's Seat and how it always helps you place where you are from a little outside of the centre.

Do you have any interesting hobbies?

Other than going to gigs… not really. I love keeping fit and counter balancing this with a glass of wine now and then :).

Funniest or most embarrassing moment?

NSFW…no, there are probably too many to mention. I can be a little clumsy.

Are you originally from Edinburgh? If not, where are you from and how long have you been living here?

Yes, I'm originally from Edinburgh and I lived in Glasgow while I was studying which I loved but Edinburgh is home.

Where do you see yourself in five years’ time?

I’ve absolutely no idea. I’d hope to still be with Cullen Property, striving to expand our portfolio with amazing properties.

What are your future career goals?

I’d love to have a team of New Business property professionals who can share my desire to deliver quality advice and service.
