The Edinburgh Festival Fringe: The largest arts festival in the world takes place every August. There’s thousands of shows, from comedy and theatre to performing arts and music, in over 250 venues. Edinburgh International Book Festival: Taking place in the last three weeks of August, this festival welcomes novelists, poets, scientists and musicians in over 700 events.
