The Edinburgh Festival Fringe is underway and with the promise of some sun finally making an appearance, we thought we would make it that little bit easier for you to get out there and see the best shows that are both purse-friendly and memorable. We have rounded up five of our favourite Fringe events that are sure to get you laughing, crying and dancing along this summer (possibly all at once!).
Bluesy Trio Hot Tin Roof
If your idea of a perfect Fringe night is chilling out to some Jazz and Blues then the Bluesy Trio Hot Tin Roof have you covered- this is their fifth year at the Fringe and with many of their own original captivating melodies, this show is sure to have you stamping your feet to the beat! For a night full of theatrics and giggles, the show ’32’ promises to deliver cabaret in a refreshing and witty way. ‘Dancing’, ‘circus’ and ‘music’ are just some of the tags used to describe this diverse show and with tickets available for free, this really isn’t one to be missed. 101 Comedy Club
If it’s comedy you’re looking for, be sure to check out 101 Comedy Club! Three Weeks describes it as ‘Funny. Fast. Free.’- our favourite words beginning with F! The show runs from the 4th-28th August 2016 and more info can be found here.
Aaaaaargh! It’s the One-Liner Show
Fancy getting involved in a show? Why not drop by ‘Aaaaaargh! It’s the One-Liner Show’, where audience members are encouraged to come on stage for a ‘joke-off’. If you don’t like to be ‘just another audience member’ then this is the show for you. Tickets are free and the show runs throughout the Fringe at the Laughing Horse @ Espionage. Check it out here.
Free Venues
As well as some wonderful cheap and cheerful shows, there are also some great free venues that you can check out, including Bar 50 and Cabaret Voltaire just outside Cowgate. You can check out this venue and other free locations here.
